Radii

The Radii Chair investigates how straight and curved geometries can be integrated into a single, continuous form. Constructed from 32mm stainless-steel tubing, the frame is precisely bent and TIG welded to create a seamless loop that wraps around the seat. The result is a structure that feels both minimal and sculptural.

The design was refined through multiple prototypes, adjusting bend radii, wall thickness, and overall proportions to achieve stability without compromising visual clarity. The seat height was finalized at around 440mm after ergonomic testing, with a 2.5-degree inward tilt that introduces subtle concavity for comfort and support.

A solid wooden seat provides contrast to the polished steel frame, balancing industrial precision with natural tactility. Every detail—from bending and welding to finishing—was developed to highlight the logic of the structure rather than decorative elements.

The Radii Chair embodies clarity, rhythm, and material honesty, offering a design that is both technically precise and grounded in everyday usability.
